"Casiotone for the Painfully Alone is the musical alias of 28 year old American film school drop-out Owen Ashworth. Ashworth began making music in after he realized that song-making was a far more cost-effective means of storytelling than film-making." So begins Owen Ashworth's biography on the Casiotone for the Painfully Alone website/5(12).

Mar 07,  · The song serves as a think-piece on modern relationships, and is ambiguous enough to be applied to unrequited love of all kinds, or even just the beauty of companionship. "I Love Creedence.

Jun 09,  · Casiotone for the Painfully Alone has always crafted very personal, very narrative songs, and ETIQUETTE is no different. In these short nuggets, the tone ranges from wistful ("New Years Kiss") to emo thrum ("Young Shields")/5(89).

Limited to copies. Labels are hand stamped with casiotone logo. The version of 'seattle wash' on this 7" is the original version, not the rerecorded version that appears on the tomlab cd and lp of 'answering machine music'.

Etiquette, the fourth album by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, was originally released on March 9, on the German electronic label, Tomlab. Although it did not receive much acclaim at the time (Pitchfork saw fit to include Etiquette on their “Overlooked Records ” list), the Etiquette cult has grown over the years, & the now-classic album remains the most popular & influential.
